HP XP7 Replication Manager 8.0.0-01 Release Notes

Fixes
The following issues were resolved in 8.0.0-01:
When the backup commands of Application Agent are used to back up an SQL Server database,
even if you use a user script function in Application Agent to back up the data, the acquired
backup data no longer contains an inconsistent database that was not frozen, and you can now
back up a frozen and consistent database. [SD-EN-RepMgr-115].
Replication Manager operations can now be reliably performed without stopping with the
RPM-00821 or KAVN00125-E error, even if the total number of virtual storage machines managed
by remote Device Manager is 128,000 LDEVs or more (The conditions for occurrence of this issue
depend on the use of shared resources with other HP XP7 CVAE products running on the same
management server as Replication Manager. ).
The following issues were resolved in 8.0.0-00:
An attempt to change the copy group name or path group ID might generate the RPM-03301
error message.
For a copy pair that consists of open volumes, executing a copy-pair operation task without
specifying quick mode now succeeds, and the KAVN00455-E message and KAVN00456-E
message are no longer output.
When Tiered Storage Manager checks whether the volume lock period or the specified time limit
for volume locks has passed, Device Manager does not unnecessarily request that Replication
Manager synchronize the configuration information, and synchronization of Replication Manager
configuration information is not executed frequently.
Important considerations
Remote copy between the HP XP7 Disk Controller (DKC) and DKC for another storage
system using virtual ID
The following task types are not available for remote copy between the HP XP7 DKC and the DKC for
another storage system.
If the primary volume (P-VOL) is an HP XP7 DKC:
takeover-recovery (recreate)
If the secondary volume (S-VOL) is an HP XP7 DKC:
create
modify file (create)—if you add a pair to an existing copy group
HP recommends that you do not delete a copy pair where the relationship between P-VOL and S-VOL
was reversed by swap operation. If you delete such a copy pair and recreate the copy pair, data
stored in the volume cannot be maintained.
Execution modes for copy pair operation tasks
If you execute a copy pair operation task without specifying quick mode, the execution mode that
is used for the task might be different in from the execution mode used in earlier versions than in version
8.0.0-00 .
Applicable copy pair operation tasks:
Tasks that execute paircreate and pairsplit simultaneously
Tasks that split, resync, or restore a copy pair
In version 8.0.0-00, a copy pair operation task is executed in normal mode.
In versions earlier than 8.0.0-00, the copy pair operation mode for RAID Manager is set.
