c. Click Search.
d. Select the server you want to add, and then click Apply.
e. Click Run now.
f. Enter the credentials that you specified on the VMware vCenter Server Web Service page
during the VMware vCenter Server installation. Provide the vCenter server name, port
number, user name, and the password.
3. Repeat these steps as many times as necessary to add all of your vCenter servers.
4. Click OK.
Setting up a virtual connect domain group
To create and manage logical servers through HP Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager, you must
create a VC Domain Group in Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager. The VCEM Domain Group
comprises of one or more VC Domains.
To create a VC Domain group in VCEM:
1. Sign in to HP SIM on the CMS.
2. Select ToolsIntegrated ConsolesVirtual Connect Enterprise Manager
3. Select the VC Domains tab.
4. Select at least one of the already configured VC Domains that will be part of the new VC
Domain Group. You can also select other VC Domains (either already configured or not
configured) to be part of the same VC Domain Group. All selected VC Domains must share
the same VC Domain and hardware configuration. For more information, see the HP Virtual
Connect User Guide.
5. Click New VC Domain Group.
a. Enter the administrator name and password of the virtual connect domain(s) you want to
manage in VCEM.
b. Enter a virtual connect domain group name and setting.
6. Click OK.
Wait until the Create VC Domain Group job in VCEM shows a complete status.
Configuring HP Insight Control virtual machine management to manage
virtual machine hosts behind a firewall
When managing virtual machine hosts behind a firewall, the firewall must be configured to enable
virtual machine management traffic through the firewall. The following ports are used for:
NOTE: All the ports used are registered with Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA).
For communication between the browsers and the HP SIM, HTTPS over port 50000 is utilized.
For communication between the web service and the virtual machine management service
(both on the HP SIM CMS), SSL over port 40420 is utilized.
For communication between the virtual machine management service and virtual machine
management agent (on virtual machine hosts), SSL over ports 1125 and 1126 is utilized.
For communication between the virtual machine management agent during a move or copy,
SSL over port 1126 is utilized.
