Configuring HP Insight Management for large environments
When utilizing HP Insight Management to manage many devices (physical and virtual), it becomes
necessary to perform optimization adjustments on both the Windows OS and various HP Insight
Management components. If the current number of managed devices exceeds roughly three-fourths
of the maximum number of supported devices as specified in the HP Insight Management Support
Matrix, HP strongly recommends that the following optimization changes be carried out in order
to maintain optimal CMS performance.
NOTE: For large environment installations, do not use 32–bit CMS.
Virtual Server Environment Configuration Parameters
Increase Logical Server Automation Service Heap Space
On large scale systems (on a 64-bit CMS), the HP Logical Server Automation service may run out
of memory and display an out of memory error in the <InstallPath>\Virtual Server
Environment\logs\hp_lsa_service.log file. The error is similar to the following example:
INFO | jvm 1 | 2010/03/08 19:15:14 |
java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: GC overhead limit exceeded
