HP Insight Management 7.3 Update 1 Installation and Upgrade Release Notes

2 Installation and upgrade notes
This chapter provides links to the Insight Management installation documentation and contains
notes that are important to read before upgrading to Insight Management version 7.3.1, performing
a new installation of Insight Management version 7.3.1, or uninstalling the Insight Management
software.
NOTE: HP Insight Management can only be installed on drives with an 8dot3 filename enabled
in Windows. The 8dot3 filename is enabled on the default drive, which is the C:drive. If you
choose a non-default drive, then use the fsutil command, to check and enable the 8dot3
filename.
For example, before installing Insight Management software on V:drive on a Windows 2012
system, execute the command fsutil 8dot3name set V:0 to enable 8dot3 filename.
NOTE: When planning for a disaster recovery solution using Matrix recovery management, the
CMS and storage management servers at the primary site and the remote site must have unique
names. The CMS at both these sites must be able to resolve each other’s name and IP address.
The storage management servers at both the sites must be accessible from the CMS over the
network. The hypervisor hosts and any management servers such as vCenter and other hosts must
have unique names at both sites.

Enterprise Information Library to ensure that you have the most up-to-date documents.
Potential Microsoft SQL database errors
Table 5 lists known issues acknowledged by Microsoft that can occur during an SQL database
upgrade. These errors can also occur during a new installation of Insight Management as well if
the existing database on the CMS is automatically upgraded as part of the installation.
The Error code column lists the error codes that will be displayed when the upgrade to SQL Server
2008 Express R2 is not successful.
