8. On the Security tab, make any necessary changes. When all changes are complete, click
Apply. If additional changes are required on other tabs, click the appropriate tab. When
finished, click OK.
Removing a volume
To remove a volume:
1. In the Navigation tree, select Volumes.
The list of available volumes appears in the content pane.
2. From the content pane, select the appropriate volume.
The properties for the selected volume are displayed.
3. Click Remove Volume at the bottom of the window. (Alternatively, right-click the volume service
and select Remove Volume.)
The Remove Volume verification dialog box appears.
4. Click Remove Volume in the verification box.
NOTE: Although the volume is removed from SPM, the volume and all contents and settings
remain on the array.
Managing networks
To import a network, see Importing a network.
Viewing and modifying network settings (Overview tab)
The Overview tab displays the basic properties of the network.
• Tags – Any tags that the administrator may have added to the network.
• Management URL – The URL at which the network device manager may be found.
• UUID – The WWN of the principle switch in the network.
• Last Refresh – The time at which the network was last refreshed with the underlying network
device manager.
• Online – True if SPM is able to communicate with the underlying network device manager
and False otherwise.
• Quarantine – The current state of quarantine for the network.
• Product Name – The name of the underlying networking product.
• Zoning State – Current zoning state of the network; possibilities are Open which means that
any device on the network can see any other device, Zoned which means that devices on
the network need to be included in the same zone or they can’t see each other and the last
option Unknown is a bad state that will require the storage administrator to reconfigure the
networking switches involved. This state is unusual but can sometimes occur on the underlying
switches on the network as a result of incorrect configurations on part of the storage
administrator when the network was originally configured and isn’t controlled by SPM.
To view or modify the basic settings of a network:
1. In the Navigation tree, select Networks under the Resources heading.
The list of available networks appears in the content pane.
2. From the content pane, select the appropriate network.
The properties for the selected network are displayed.
3. Click the Overview tab.
The basic settings are displayed.
