Name
Each Network has a name represented as a string. This name will be displayed when the network
is imported into SPM. Within a NetworkResource, each Network must have a unique Name.
Network names are case sensitive.
ZoningState
Each Network has a ZoningState, which is of the enumerated type ZoningState. The values involved
may be Open, or Zoned.
Zone
A Zone object describes a zone within a SAN. Its name will be displayed in SPM.
DescriptionTypeProperty
Zero or more Endpoint objects.Sequence of EndpointEndpoint
The name of this Zone.StringName
Endpoint
Each Zone contains sequence of zero or more Endpoint objects. Endpoints within a zone may also
appear in the list of Endpoints within the network containing the zone. If an endpoint in a Zone
does not appear in the Network that contains it, SPM adds that endpoint to the list of endpoints
within the network. For more information on Endpoint objects, see Endpoint.
Name
Each Zone has a name, represented as a string. Zone names must be unique within the network
that contains them.
Endpoint
An Endpoint object represents the end point of a connection between a host and a storage device
in a SAN.
DescriptionTypeProperty
A value from the NetworkEndpointKind
enumeration, indicating the type of the
network.
NetworkEndpointKindKind
A string representing the network
address of the endpoint, in a format
appropriate for the network type.
StringAddress
Kind
The Kind element of an Endpoint describes the network type of this connection. It is represented
as a value from the NetworkEndpointKind enumerated type. Although the NetworkEndpointKind
enumerated type mentions additional network types, SPM 2.0 supports only Fibre Channel networks.
Address
The Address of an Endpoint is represented by a string that contains the network address in a format
appropriate for the type of network described. FibreChannel endpoint addresses are represented
by their World Wide Name (WWN) in canonical form. These addresses are not case sensitive.
ZoningState
ZoningState is an enumerated type representing the state of a zone. It has two possible values:
Open, and Zoned. A network may be in the Open state if and only if it has no zones.
