Viewing security group objects (Objects tab)
To view the objects in a security group:
1. In the Navigation tree, select Security Groups under the Administration heading.
The list of available security groups appears in the content pane.
2. From the content pane, select the appropriate security group.
The properties for the selected security group are displayed.
3. Click the Objects tab.
The objects in the security group are displayed.
4. Clicking on each object provides more detailed information.
Viewing security group effective permissions settings (Effective Permissions tab)
To view the effective permissions of a security group:
1. In the Navigation tree, select Security Groups under the Administration heading.
The list of available security groups appears in the content pane.
2. From the content pane, select the appropriate security group.
The properties for the selected security group are displayed.
3. Click the Effective Permissions tab.
The current effective permissions are displayed.
4. Click Select... to choose a user, group or role.
The Select User, Group or Role dialog box appears.
5. Search for a user, group or role by entering terms in the search box.
6. Select a user, group or role from the corresponding list.
7. Click OK.
The effective permissions for that user, group or role are displayed.
Deleting a security group
SPM prevents the deletion of a security group that has any resources assigned to it.
To delete a security group:
1. In the Navigation tree, select Security Groups under the Administration section.
The list of available security groups appears in the content pane.
2. From the content pane, select the appropriate security group.
The properties for the selected security group are displayed.
3. Click Delete Security Group at the bottom of the window. (Alternatively, right-click the security
group and select Delete Security Group.)
The Delete Security Group verification dialog box appears.
4. Click Delete Security Group in the verification box.
Resynchronizing resources
NOTE: Changes made to a device may not be immediately visible in SPM. SPM automatically
updates resource details over a time interval or upon resync. A resync is available to a user with
the proper access rights.
A user with the proper access rights may resynchronize all instances of a specific resource (arrays,
storage pools, volumes, networks) by clicking the appropriate action button within the resource
information area. For example, to resync all arrays:
