Procedure
1. In the navigation pane, select Virtual Disks.
2. On the List tab, select the fractured mirrorclone virtual disk to detach. Alternately, you can
select the mirrorclone's source virtual disk.
3. Select Actions > Detach Mirrorclone.
The Detach Mirrorclone confirmation window opens.
4. Click OK.
The window closes and the Monitor Job window opens. An implicit job is begun to execute
the action.
5. After the implicit job completes, refresh the content pane to display the most current resources.

Editing virtual disk properties
Edit (set) the properties of a virtual disk.
Considerations
You can use the GUI or the CLUI. See Virtual disks actions cross reference. The CLUI allows
you to edit several different properties. The GUI action allows you to edit only the virtual disk
name.

Procedure
This procedure uses the GUI.
1. In the navigation pane, select Virtual Disks.
2. On the List tab, select the virtual disk whose properties you want to edit.
3. Select Actions > Edit Properties.
The Editing the Virtual Disk window opens.
Fracturing mirrorclones
Stop (fracture) the synchronized local replication from a source virtual disk to its mirrorclone. This
action converts a synchronized mirrorclone to a fractured mirrorclone. See fractured mirrorclones
and synchronized mirrorclones.
Considerations
You can use the GUI, or jobs to fracture a mirrorclone. See Virtual disks actions cross reference.

When using jobs, you must explicitly flush the source virtual disk write cache before the fracture
is started. See Fractured mirrorclone write cache flush.

1. In the navigation pane, select Virtual Disks.
2. On the List tab, select the mirrorclone virtual disk to fracture. Alternately, you can select the
mirrorclone's source virtual disk.
3. Select Actions > Fracture Mirrorclone.
The Fracture Mirrorclone confirmation window opens.
