HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager User Guide (T3680-96089, October 2012)

Tru64 UNIX host volumes
General
The replication manager displays information about UFS, AdvFS host volumes and LSM logical
volumes on enabled hosts.
In a host cluster, only the volumes on the cluster's enabled host are displayed. See Enabled
hosts.
Local replication of UFS and AdvFS host volumes is supported. Local replication of LSM logical
volumes is not supported. See Local replication.
Mounting
The replication manager does not support mounting a Tru64 host volume in a subdirectory of
/tmp.
Types
Virtual disks types reported by the replication manager:
RemarksIconType
Empty disks (disk space) that are preallocated for later use.
See Containers.
Container
Dependent virtual disks that use mirrorclone technology.
See Synchronized mirrorclones and Fractured mirrorclones.
Mirrorclone
Independent virtual disks, including snapclones.
See snapclones.

Dependent virtual disks that use snapshot technology.

Virtual disk guidelines
The following apply to virtual disks and containers.
Names. Up to 32 characters long. Names are not case sensitive but are subject to character
restrictions. See Illegal characters.
Size. When creating, the size must be specified in whole GBs (no decimals).
NOTE: Some versions of controller software support virtual disks larger than 2 TB. The
following considerations apply to virtual disks larger than 2 TB:
Local replication (snapshots, snapclones, mirrorclones) cannot be used with them.
They cannot be a member of an HP P6000 Continuous Access remote replication group.
DC-Management cannot be used to expand or shrink them.
