HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager User Guide (T3680-96089, October 2012)

Considerations
You can use the GUI or the CLUI. See Enabled hosts actions cross reference.
Before an enabled host can be added, an administrator must first install the appropriate
OS-specific HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager host agent software on the host and
ensure the agent is running correctly.
To add the host, the administrator must know that fully qualified network name or IP address
of the host.
When adding a guest OS-enabled host, be sure to use the network name or IP address of the
guest OS and not the network name or IP address of the parent VM server on which the guest
OS is running.
VM server. Guest OS-enabled hosts can be added before the parent VM server is added. The
properties will display the parent VM server as Unknown until it is added.
HP recommends using the same host name in HP P6000 Command View and HP P6000
Replication Solutions Manager to identify each host. This provides consistency in both interfaces
when presenting a virtual disk to a host.
Procedure
This procedure uses the GUI.
1. In the navigation pane, select Enabled Hosts.
2. On the List tab, select Actions > New.
The New Enabled Host window opens.
3. Follow the instructions in the window.
Adding VM servers
Add a VM server to the replication manager database. After a VM server is added, it is recognized
by the replication manager and any guest OS-enabled hosts on it can be managed by HP P6000
Replication Solutions Manager.
