This document provides information about the November 2010 release of the 10GigEthr-03 bundle
for HP-UX 11i v3.
1 10GigEthr-03 overview
The 10GigEthr-03 bundle contains the iocxgbe driver, which supports the Ethernet component
of the HP NC551m Dual Port FlexFabric 10GbE Network Adapter. This initial release of the
10GigEthr-03 bundle is available by restricted download only; contact your account manager or
HP-UX Ambassador for instructions on how to obtain this bundle.
Future releases of HP-UX 11i v3 will deliver 10GigEthr-03 as a required (always-installed) product
in all Operating Environments (OEs), and will be available for unrestricted download.

3 Problems fixed in this version
There are no defects or fixes included in 10GigEthr-03 at the time of this publication.
4 Known problems and limitations
The following features are not available in Version 11.31.1011:
• LAN boot is not supported.
Severity: Medium
LAN boot will be supported in a future release of HP-UX 11i v3, when 10GigEthr-03 is included
in the Operating Environment (OE) as a required (always-installed) product.
• • Multi-queue operation is not available on all functions.
Severity: Medium
Multi-queue enables traffic to be partitioned across CPUs. This device restricts multi-queue
operation to receive traffic on the primary function for each port: function 0 (port 0) and
function 1 (port 1). Version B.11.31.1011 of the iocxgbe driver defaults the number of
receive queues on these two functions to 1. This default value might change in a future release.
To set the number of receive queues, use the one of the following commands:
◦ lanadmin –x drv_mq number_of_queues ppa
◦ nwmgr –A drv_mq number_of_queues –c lanppa
where number_of_queues is an integer from 1 to 5.

5.1 Operating system and version compatibility
This release is specific for HP-UX 11i v3, Application Release B.11.31.1009 or later.
