10GigEthr-03 (iocxgbe) B.11.31.1103.01 Ethernet Driver Release Notes

This document provides information about the March 2011 web release of the 10GigEthr-03
bundle for HP-UX 11i v3.
1 10GigEthr-03 overview
The 10GigEthr-03 bundle contains the iocxgbe driver, which supports the Ethernet component
of the HP NC551m Dual Port FlexFabric 10GbE Network Adapter.
2 New and changed features in this release
2.1 New features
There are no new features included in 10GigEthr-03 at the time of this publication.
2.2 Changed features
The following features are changed with this version of 10GigEthr-03:
Changes to multi-queue settings.
Multi-queue operation on the primary function for each port (function 0 (port 0) and function
1 (port 1) allows a maximum of 5 receive queues per function. The default setting prior to this
release was 1 queue per function. The default is now 5 receive queues per function. For
functions greater than 1, the maximum and default number of queues remains 1.
In addition to changing the default, the error messages more clearly state how many queues
are supported on each function.
Improved NWMGR support.
The driver setting DRV_PR (TCP Driver Packet Reassembly) also called SW_LRO (Software
Large Receive Offload) can be set using LANADMIN. With this release, you can use NWMGR
to adjust this setting as well as LANADMIN.
TSO is enabled by default.
A performance issue that caused TSO to be disabled by default in previous versions of
10GigEthr-03 has been corrected. As a result, TSO is now enabled by default.
Interrupt coalescing is enabled.
Setting transmit and receive coalescing values now affects the interrupt rate. In previous versions
of 10GigEthr-03, this feature was not fully implemented.
