HP Data Protector Express Patch 5.0.01 Release Notes

Issues Resolved in Version 5.0.01
DPX application stops responding under certain circumstances.

This patch requires that Data Protector Express version 5.0.00 is already installed on the target
computer.

Installation instructions
Please backup your system before installing the patch. Refer to Data Protector Express User Guide
for instructions on backup.
Installing on MS Windows
1. Download the patch file TC330-10504.exe to a temporary folder. (e.g. C:\temp)
2. Double click on the TC330-10504.exe
3. When asked for a location to extract the contents give a temporary folder path and click next.
(e.g. C:\temp)
4. The previous step will create a folder named “HP” and the files will be stored in that folder.
5. Open the “HP” folder and double click on the EXE file to launch the installer. (e.g.
C:\temp\HP\setup.exe)
6. Select “Upgrade existing installation and continue. This will apply the patch to the existing
installation of DPX 5.0
Verification on MS Windows
After the installation, start the DPX administrator GUI and go to Help —> About. The version
displayed now should be Data Protector Express Version 5.0.01 build 70262.
Installation on Linux
1. Download the patch file TC330-10504.exe to a temporary folder on a windows computer
(e.g. C:\temp).
2. Double click on the TC330-10504.exe.
3. When asked for a location to extract the contents, give a temporary folder path and click next
(e.g. C:\temp).
4. The previous step will create a folder by name “HP” and the files will be stored in that folder.
5. Zip or tar the folder “HP” and transfer it to the target Linux computer.
6. On the Linux computer, open a terminal and go to the directory where the zip/tar file is stored.
7. Unzip/Untar the file to a temporary folder (e.g /tmp).
8. The previous step will create a directory by name “HP” in the path you extracted it (e.g.
/tmp/HP).
