Figure 38 shows the default configuration parameters for file systems. The logging level is set to
Log All.

Detect Windows NTFS hardlinks
This option enables detection of NTFS hard links. By default, Data Protector does not detect
NTFS hard links, and backs them up as files. This significantly improves backup performance,
but the files occupy more space on the media. The original structure is not preserved and, when
restored, hard links are restored as files.
Note: NTFS hard links are not commonly used in Windows environments so they are outside
the scope of this white paper.
