HP Data Protector A.06.1x
Direct backup support matrix
Version: 3.8 Date: April 2012
Split-mirror or snapshot technology is used to assure point-in-time stability of data. Xcopy engine is used to write data segments from disk to tape.
Restore is done through SAN using traditional methods (local restore from tape to disk on the server). Currently, data cannot be restored using the serverless method.
Direct backup media agent is required for initiating drive commands for data transfer to the media. The backup media agent is only supported on HPUX 11.11.
As data resolving is not platform-independent, also the application host is only supported on HP-UX 11.11.
Raw disk and raw logical volume backup and restore is supported. In addition, Oracle 9i integration is supported.
