Disabling the iSNS client service

The following is an example.
switch:admin> isnsccfg –set –m –s 10.33.56.105
iSNS client configuration updated: peering with iSNS server 10.33.56.105 on
the management port.
5. Verify that the iSNS server has been configured correctly by entering the isnscCfg - -show
command as follows:
switch:admin> isnsccfg --show
iSNS client is peering with iSNS server 10.33.56.105 on the management port.
Operational Status: Connected to iSNS server.
6. Re-register the iSNS objects by entering the isnsccfg - -reregister command as follows.
switch:admin> isnsccfg --reregister
Disabling the iSNS client service
When the iSNS client service is disabled, the DD and DDSets are kept in the fabric.
To disable the iSNS client service
1. Connect and log in to the switch.
2. Disable the iSNS client service by entering the fosConfig - -disable isnsc command as follows:
switch:admin> fosconfig --disable isnsc
3. Verify that the service is disabled by entering the fosConfig - -show command as follows:
switch:admin> fosconfig --show
FC Routing service:disabled
iSCSI service:enabled
iSNS Client service:disabled
Clearing the iSNS client configuration
The iSNS client configuration can be cleared with a single command.
To clear the iSNS configuration
1. Connect and log in to the switch.
2. Clear the iSNS configuration be entering the isnscCfg - -clear command as follows:
switch:admin> isnsccfg --clear
