Synopsis fosconfig [-e |--enable feature | -d |--disable feature] | [-s |--show]
Description Use this command to enable or disable a feature, or display the current operating status of
features on a switch.
The following features are supported (see Notes for limitations):
FC Routing service (see fcrConfigure)
iSCSI service (see iscsiCfg)
iSNS client service (see isnscCfg)
Operands This command has the following operands:
-e |--enable feature
Enables a feature on the switch. Valid values for feature are:
fcr The FC Routing service will be enabled on this switch. The FC Routing service
is by default disabled. Use fosConfig --show to determine the state of the FC
Routing service, and then use the appropriate operands to enable or disable
it. When the FC Routing service is disabled, this command must be executed
to enable it. This command can be run while the switch state is "online".
Possible results are:
"FC Routing service is in the process of being disabled, please try again after
a few minutes." This means that a command to disable the FC Routing
service is still in progress. Wait a few minutes and try again.
"FC Routing service is already enabled." This means that the FC Routing
service is already enabled.
Use switchShow to display the current state of the FC Routing service.
iSCSI The iSCSI service will be enabled on this switch. By default, iSCSI is disabled.
This command must be executed to enable the iSCSI service. This command
can be run while the switch state is "online".
iSNSC The iSNSC service will be enabled on this switch. By default, iSNSC is
disabled. This command must be executed to enable the iSNSC service. This
command can be run while the switch state is "online".
-d |--disable feature
Disables a feature on the switch. Valid values for feature are:
fcr The FC Routing service will be disabled on this switch. This command can be
run while the switch state is "online". To use this command to disable the FC
Routing service only instead of disabling the switch, issue this command,
then change the BB fabric ID using fcrConfigure. Use fosConfig --enable fcr
to turn FC routing on. To run this command, all enabled EX_Ports and
VEX_Ports on the switch must be "offline". If there is an XPath OS switch in
the BB fabric, it might take up to 8 minutes to complete the disable process.
