Upgrading the Fabric Manager client after upgrading the Fabric Manager
server
After you upgrade t
he Fabric Manager server, delete all existing shortcuts for the Fabric
Manager client. I
n order for the client to attach to the upgraded ser ver, enter the IP
address of the ser
ver into the browser window. You should see Javastart install the
upgraded client. If you do not, close the browser a n d try again.
Switch conguration settings lost in Fabric Manager upgrade
Anypreviouslybackedupswitchconguration les and user-congured settings for
scheduling a Switch Conguration Backup are lost after the upgrade from Fabric
Manager 5.3x to 5.4x.
Whenupgradingfrom5.3xto5.4x,performthefollowingsteps:
1. Export the switch con guration les for each switch using the Tools > Switch
Conguration> View Conguration Repository dialog.
2. Complete the upgrade.
3. Import the previous switch conguration les using the Tools > Switch Conguration
> View Conguration Repository dialog.
4. Recongure the scheduled backup settings.
Performance Monitoring settings lost in Fabric Manager upgrade
Performance Monitoring congured at the SAN level is lost after an upgrade from Fabric
Manager 5.3x to 5.4x. Port Data Collection and Alerts are disabled (turned on) for
the entire SAN after the upgrade. The issue occurs only if Performance Monitoring is
enabled
at the SAN level.
If Performance M onitoring is enabled a t the SAN level, after an upgrade, recongure
Performance Monitoring at the SAN level after the upgrade.

FTP server selections
Very
rarely, when preferences are set to use the built in FTP server and you launch
Firmware Repository Management, the following message is erroneously displayed:
