HP StorageWorks FabricManager 5.4.0a release notes (AA-RWFHA-TE, March 2008)

The workaround is to select Edit > Preference and toggle the FTP server selection
between internal and external a few times.
Verifying a failure
In some unusual instances a rmware download fails but no reason for the failure is
shown in Fabric M
anager. To determine the cause of the failure, telnet into the switch and
issue the firmwa
reDownloadStatus command to view the complete failure m essage.
Using the Congure FCIP Tunnel wizard
The Congure FCIP tunnel wizard is supported only on switches running Fabric OS 5.3
and later. It will not work with other Fabric OS versions.
FC Router conguration wizard prell values
Before moving to the next page of any Fabric Manager wizard, always verify that the
information on the screen is correct. Some information may be prelled with values other
than those desired. In some congurations, the FC Router conguration wizard prells
an incorrec
tFIDvalue.
Refresh anomalies
The following sections describe refresh anomalies.
Deleted switch appears in Fabric View
In rare cases, a switch that has been removed from a fabric may still appear online in
Fabric M an
ager. The switch has been removed, and can safely be ignored. To remove
the switc
h from the view , refresh the Fabric view using the Discovery > Refresh Status
Informa
tion for SAN menu option. If this does not clear the removed switch, delete
and rediscover the fabric.
Switch enable/disable takes time to ref resh
When an Access Gateway (AG) mode-enabled switch is enabled or disabled using the
CLI,itcantakeafewminutesbeforethechangeisreected in Fabric Manager. Click
the Refresh button for an automatic refresh.
Topology client refresh
Clicking the Client Refresh button in the Topology view results in a topology layout
change and you lose any manual positioning of topology objects.
