Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator
To install and configure the HP P6000 VSS hardware provider on cluster nodes, you must have
installed the Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator, and it must be running. Some applic-
ations, such as in Microsoft Exchange and SQL clusters, required a MSDTC cluster resource to be
created as part of the application setup. In this case no additional steps are required to install the
HP P6000 VSS hardware provider. To install the HP P6000 VSS hardware provider on application
server cluster nodes that do not already have MSDTC installed and running, see Microsoft TechNet
article, "How to Install the Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator in a Windows Server
2003 Server Cluster." The article is located at the following URL: http://support.microsoft.com/
