Pre-installation Setup Activities for SNMP
Your system consists of an OpsMgr 2007 Management Server and one or more agents. If the system
is directly monitored by root management servers, the agent installation is not required. The agents
are listed in the Computers tab of the Administrator console in the OpsMgr 2007 Management Server.
You can add new agents using the Discovery wizard in the OpsMgr 2007 Administrator Console.
You must install the SNMP Trap Catcher Service on all agents before you start sending SNMP messages
to the agents.
Installing the SNMP software
If your SNMP and OpsMgr 2007 Management Server is installed on the same system, you must install
the SNMP WMI Provider and ensure that snmp.exe and snmptrap.exe services are running.
