Event handling
Events are collected automatically from the WEBES Event Listener, Service Health Monitors, SNMP
Trap Catchers, and the E5000 Messaging System. Depending on the event severity, an alert is
generated by event rules only for error, critical error, and warning events.
Events Details tab
The Events Details tab, shown in Figure 57, comprises the following components:
Event Description - Problem description, corrective action, cause of the problem, and the FRU List.
Log Name - Name of the log file that helps in monitoring events.
Event Number - Event number of the event in the log file. (You can edit the numbers)
Logging Computer - Storage Management Appliance Name or Problem Reporting Node.
Source - Name of the event.
User - User who reports this event.
Time - When the event was generated at reporting node.
Event Parameters
The Event Parameters of the HP Storage have been set to the following:
Parameter1 - Device Id
Parameter 2 - Device Name
Parameter 3 - Source Computer Name - the computer that generated the event
Parameter 4 - Source Computer Domain Name - the domain of the computer that generated the
event

HP Storage
All events and alerts generated by HP Storage hardware are shown in Figure 57. The view is a
consolidation of events generated by HP Command View EVA Software Suite, HP Storage Enterprise
Modular Arrays, HP Storage Enterprise Virtual Arrays, HP Storage Infrastructure, HP Storage Modular
Smart Arrays, HP Storage P4000, HP Tape Drives, HP Storage VA, HP Storage XP, HP Web-Based
Enterprise Services (WEBES), and HP 3PAR Storage System.
