7. Use the arrow keys as described in step 2 to enter the IP address for the DNS
server, then press ENTER. The following message is displayed (Figure 26):

8. Use the up and down arrow keys as described in step 2 to select YES,then
press ENTER.Ifyousavedthechanges,aWait a moment!! message
is displayed at the LC D panel and the LCD panel returns to the LAN 1

9. Press the up and down arrow keys until Return?? is displaye d, then press
ENTER. The LCD panel returns to scrolling mode, which continually displays
HAFM appliance operational information.
10. Record the private L A N IP address and subnet mask for reference if the H AFM
appliance hard drive fails and must be restored.
Configuring private L AN addresses
NOTE:
Before starting this procedure, ensure that the L AN 2 interface is physically connected
to the L AN. An LCD d isplay of 0.0.0.0 indicates a physical LAN connection is not
present.
You can configure the private LAN connection (LA N 2 ) using one of the following
methods:
Use Dynamic Host Control Protocol (DHCP) to assign the HA FM appliance
IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway IP address. You c an either
auto-detect or manually select the DNS server IP address.
Manually enter the HA
FM appliance IP address, subnet mask, default gateway
IP address, and DNS server IP address.
