2: System level
Parameters
interface-type: Specify an interface type.
interface-number: Specify an interface number.
Usage guidelines
Clear old statistics for the interface or interfaces before collecting new dropped packet statistics.
If you do not specify an interface type, this command clears dropped packet statistics for all interfaces on
the device.
If you only specify an interface type, this command clears dropped packet statistics for all interfaces of
the specified type.
If you specify both the interface type and interface number, this command only clears dropped packet
statistics for the specified interface.
Examples
# Clear dropped packet statistics for GigabitEthernet 4/0/1.
<Sysname> reset packet-drop interface GigabitEthernet 4/0/1
# Clear dropped packet statistics for all interfaces.
<Sysname> reset packet-drop interface
shutdown
Use shutdown to shut down an Ethernet interface or subinterface.
Use undo shutdown to bring up an Ethernet interface or subinterface.
Syntax
shutdown
undo shutdown
Default
Ethernet interfaces and subinterfaces are up.

Default command level
2: System level
Usage guidelines
You might need to shut down and then bring up an Ethernet interface to activate configuration changes
such as speed or duplex mode changes.
Examples
# Shut down and then bring up GigabitEthernet 4/0/1.
