The About dialog box displays the following information:
Version: Version of the installed plug-in.
Admin Mode: Indicates whether this client is running in administrative mode and is set
externally by system administrators. If set to True, the client is lo cked and users cannot
change most conguration settings on the client. If set to False, the client is un locked and
users are able to change many conguration settings.
Logging to: Enter a path and le name to allow diagnostic information to be stored for
support purposes.
3. Click OK to apply any changes and close the About dialog box. Click OK again to close the
Options dialog box.
Troubles
hooting: Problems logging in
If you cha
nge your Windows password or ma il servers, the RISS Outlo ok Interface prompts you to log in
when you try to search your repository. Providing your current (new) password and mail server updates
your account information (password and mail server). The following provides background information
to help you understand why this new login information is nee ded.
To use the RISS Outlook Interface you must be logged in to both:
A Microsoft Exchange mail server
RISS
After you initialize your Outlook account, these login operations are performed automatically. You are
not p rompted for your user name, password, and mail ser ver.
When you open Outlook, you are automatically logged in to Exchange.
When y
ou subm it a search query, you are automatically logged in to the system.
Your W
indows password is used for logging in to Exchange. When you initialize your Outlook account,
your Windows password b ecomes your RISS password as well.
To resynchronize your RISS log in information with your new Exchange login information, the RISS Outlook
Interface prompts you to provide the new information.
An OWA
installation may have a simple or a very complex network architecture. When lo gg ing in to an
Exch
angeaccountthroughOWA,theaccountinformationmustbepassedthroughthevariouslevels
from
the user to the Exchange server. For a simple net work architecture, the login appears once similar
to th
at of Outlook, but for a complex network, there may be multiple prompts for login information
within the same session.
