HP Insight Control for Linux 6.0 Release Notes

the mdadm and mcleog commands are missing from the /etc/sudoers file on the CMS. As a
result, these commands are not executed properly.
Corrective action: Edit /etc/sudoers on the CMS:
Add the mdadm and mcleog commands as shown in the first two lines of the example.
Add MDADM and MCELOG to the end of the nagios ALL entry as shown in this example.
Cmnd_Alias MDADM = /sbin/mdadm
Cmnd_Alias MCELOG = /usr/sbin/mcelog
nagios ALL =
NOPASSWD: CHECKALLSSHKEYS,CHECKSYSLOGALERTS,CHECKSFS,CHECKLSF,
CHECKICMP,CHECKSEL,CHECKSELMON,CHECKLVS,SENSORS,CHECKHOSTS,

This line is actually a continuation of the previous line; it is shown this way for
clarity.
2.6.12 Nagios services may not work correctly after installing PSP because of incorrect
/opt/hp permissions
If the permissions on the /opt/hp directory are set incorrectly on the CMS or on the management
hubs, the Nagios Nodeinfo, System Event Log, and System Free space services in
Status detail show a status of PENDING and a Status Information of Service is not
scheduled to be checked.
This permissions issue is caused by the PSP installation script (for example, install830.sh)
in PSP 8.31 (and earlier), which changes the permissions on /opt/hp to either 0550 or 0750.
This results in a loss of the Nagios functionality mentioned above because the Nagios plug-ins
run as the nagios user, which no longer has access to the /opt/hp/icelx directory that it
requires.
If you run the OptionsIC-LinuxConfigure Management Services tool after running the
PSP installation script, the permissions of /opt/hp are restored to at least 0555, as required by
Nagios.
However, if you run the PSP installation script either manually or through the DeployDeploy
Drivers, Firmware, and AgentsIC-LinuxInstall ProLiant Support Pack (PSP)... tool, after
you have already run OptionsIC-LinuxConfigure Management Services, then the
permissions on /opt/hp are set to either 0550 or 0750, and the Nagios functions mentioned
above do not work correctly.
Corrective action: You can restore the permissions of /opt/hp to at least 0555 (which is the
minimum required by Nagios) by either of the following methods:
Run the following command on the CMS and all management hubs as the root user:
# /opt/hptc/config/sbin/check_environment
Rerun the OptionsIC-LinuxConfigure Management Services tool, which restores the
permissions automatically.
