This chapter contains notes that affect the Insight Control for Linux user documentation and
online help.
3.1 HP Insight Control for Linux Support Matrix
The notes in this section apply to the HP Insight Control for Linux Support Matrix.
3.1.1 Correction to Table 2-1, Managed system server requirements
The following footnote applies to the ESX virtualization operating systems:
* Network installation of the ESX virtualization operating system from the Insight Control for
Linux repository is not currently supported on the BL280c G6 server blades.
3.1.2 Correction to Table 3-1, Supported c-Class server blades
The following note applies to the BL280c G6 server blades:
* Network installation of the ESX virtualization operating system from the Insight Control for
Linux repository is not currently supported on the BL280c G6 server blades.
3.2 HP Insight Control for Linux Installation Guide
The notes in this section apply to the HP Insight Control for Linux Installation Guide.
3.2.1 Additions to Chapter 3, Preparing for the Insight Control for Linux installation
In section 3.4.1.2, Verify that required OS RPMs are installed, add the following items as noted:
Add the required RPM pdksh to each column in Table 3-3, RHEL version 4 RPM
requirements.
Add the required RPM ksh to each column in Table 3-4, RHEL version 5 RPM requirements.
Add the required RPM ksh to each column in Table 3-5, SLES version 10 RPM requirements.
Add the required RPM ksh to each column in Table 3-6, SLES version 11 RPM requirements.
3.2.2 Addition to Chapter 9, Troubleshooting
Add the following sections:
9.1.13 The install.sh script exits with "An error occurred during the RPM installation
If an RPM dependency is missing from the CMS, the install.sh script exits with the following
error:
An error occurred during the RPM installation.
Contact HP Software Technical Support for assistance
Please view /opt/hp/icelx/logs/install_log for details.
Corrective action: Perform these steps:
1. Examine the /opt/hp/icelx/logs/install_log file to determine the missing RPM
dependency
2. Install the missing RPM on your CMS.
3. Rerun the install.sh script.
Here is an example of an error in the install_log if the ksh RPM is not installed on your
RHEL5 or SLES CMS:
error: Failed dependencies:
ksh is needed by sys_check-x-y.arch
