Limitation from Virtual Center to enable or disable HotCPUPlug and HotMemoryPlug
Virtual Center (VC) UI does not allow enabling Memory or CPU Hot Plug for the VM (ESX), which
is in the powered on state.
Insight Control virtual machine management supports enabling or disabling the Memory and CPU
Hot Plug, irrespective of the on or off state of the VM power. This is because VISDK allows enabling
or disabling Memory and CPU Hot Plug for a powered on VM.
VMM cannot manage a Hyper-V VM
If a Hyper-V virtual machine has a single local disk in bootdisk ide1:1, with the OS installed on
ide1:1, then the VM is not managed by VMM.
To resolve this issue, you must create the bootdisk on ide0:0.
Support for xen on RHEL 5.8 as a managed node fails during VMM registration
The registration of Xen 5.8 hosts fails on RHEL with the following error message:
Failed to connect to the XEN server or CIMOM not responding.
To resolve this issue, follow these instructions:
1. Ensure that the following entry is available in the In/etc/Pegasus/access.conf file. In
the absence of this entry, you need to include it for successful registration.+: root :
wbemNetwork
2. Restart CIMOM service using # cimserver if including the +: root : wbemNetwork entry
fails to register the Xen 5.8 host.
3. Uninstall and install the following Red Hat Package Manager (RPM) package on RHEL, in
case restarting CIMOM service and including the +: root : wbemNetwork entry fails to
register the Xen 5.8 host.
• Libvirt, libvirt-cim, libvirt-devel, libvirt-python
• tog-Pegasus
• Sblim-cmpi-base
Stop VM task does not perform as expected on Xen on RHEL 5.4 x86 virtual machine
hosts
On a Xen on RHEL 5.4 x86 virtual-machine host, a Stop operation performed on a Microsoft
Windows virtual machine guest may not succeed. Instead, VMM displays a timed-out message
and does not indicate a failure.
Error message Unknown to VMM appears when performing the copy operation on
a virtual machine
If the error message Unknown to VMM appears when performing the copy operation on a virtual
machine, ensure that the virtual machine exists on the host. If the virtual machine has been deleted
from the host, but the virtual machine node is still present in HP SIM, click Options→Identify Systems
in the host HP SIM. If the virtual machine was manually discovered in HP SIM through the IP address,
the virtual machine must be deleted from the HP SIM All Systems page.
Restarting the VMM service while any guest VM lifecycle operation or guest VM
movements across hosts is in progress will result in failure
If you restart VMM service after initiating a guest VM lifecycle operation or guest VM movements
