HP Insight Control for Linux 6.0 User Guide

When a new set of credentials is entered with the Configure Management
ProcessorCredentials... task, Insight Control for Linux attempts to find an existing user with
the same user name. If one is found, the user password is changed to match the new credential.
If no match is found, then the new credentials are placed in slot 15, overwriting the existing
credentials.
For this reason, do not store credentials, other than those for Insight Control for Linux, in slots
15 and 16.
22.2 Deploying WBEM provider components using Configure or Repair
Agents task
IMPORTANT: Installing the WBEM provider using the ConfigureConfigure or Repair
Agents task fails if you use a version earlier than RHEL 5.2 or SLES 10 SP2:
RHEL 5.2 provides a version of Open Pegasus and libvirt on the distribution media. For
the ConfigureConfigure or Repair Agents task to work properly, both the tog-pegasus
and sblim-cmpi-base packages must be installed on the RHEL 5.2 Linux Xen host. If
these are not installed, the Configure or Repair Agents installation fails with an error
message. The Configure or Repair Agents task deploys libcmpiutil and Libvirt-CIM
to the RHEL 5.2 Linux Xen host.
SLES 10 SP2 provides a version of libvirt and sblim-indication_helper on the
distribution media. For the ConfigureConfigure or Repair Agents task to work properly,
both must be installed on the SLES 10 SP2 Linux Xen host. If these are not installed, the
Configure or Repair Agents installation fails with an error message. SLES 10 SP2 also
provides OpenWBEM CIMOM, which must be removed or not installed on the SLES 10 SP2
Linux Xen host. the Configure or Repair Agents deploys Open Pegasus, libcmpiutils,
Libvirt-CIM, and sblim-cmpi-base to the SLES 10 SP2 Linux Xen host.
To deploy the WBEM provider components, you must deploy the following components:
On RHEL 5.2 and 5.3:
xen
xen-libs
kernel-xen
kernel-xen-devel
sblim-cmpi-base
tog-pegasus
On RHEL 5.3, ConfigureConfigure or Repair Agents does not deploy WBEM providers. In
addition, you must perform these steps:
1. Install the following virtualization packages on the virtual machine host before registering
with VMM:
libcmpiutil
libvirt-cim
sblim-cmpi-base
tog-pegasus
2. Configure tog-pegasus.
3. To enable the root user to connect to tog-pegasus remotely, make sure the following line
is present in /etc/Pegasus/acces.conf:
*:root:wbemNetwork
4. Restart tog-pegasus on the virtual machine host.
