Installation requirements and prerequisites
7.2 Update 2
• Ensure that the CMS (Central Management Server) meets the following criteria:
HP Insight Management 7.2 or 7.2 Update1 is installed◦
◦ HP Insight Management services are up and running
• Obtain the HP Insight Management 7.2 Update 2 ISO DVD images from the following sources:
HP Insight Management downloads at http://www.hp.com/go/insightupdates◦
◦ HP Software Depot at http://software.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?
productNumber=IMDVD
• Use an ISO mounting utility to mount the ISO image or extract the ISO structure to a folder.
IMPORTANT: If you extract the ISO image to a folder, extract the entire contents of the ISO
and leave the file and directory structure intact.
• Close or disable virus scanning software before starting the update. Virus scanning software
might slow down the update process or cause a component update to fail.

Distribution media
The physical distribution media for the Insight Management 7.2 release contains complete ISO
images, which enables you to perform a new installation of Insight Management version 7.2 or
an upgrade to Insight Management version 7.2.
Obtaining the distribution media
Obtain the HP Insight Management 7.2 and 7.2 Update 2 distribution media through one of the
following sources:
• An HP or an HP authorized reseller.
• Downloading the ISO images from the HP Software Depot:

• Downloading a trial version from the Insight Management website:
http://www.hp.com/go/tryinsightmanagement
NOTE: HP has introduced a second media kit titled HP Insight Control server provisioning USB
media kit. This distribution media contains the Insight Control server provisioning software, available
through the same channels as the Insight Management distribution media.
