• The CMS has a local or remote SQL server instance.
• Dynamic ports are not enabled. You can verify the
status through the Microsoft SQL Configuration
Manager (SQL Server Network

Dynamic Ports field must contain a null value, not a
zero (0).
• SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2 Express (32-bit) is only
supported if it is running on the same server as HP
Systems Insight Manager. The following are
supported as remote databases:

◦ SQL Server 2008 SP3 Standard/Enterprise

Versions of Microsoft SQL Server Express earlier than
2008 will be upgraded to SQL Server 2008 Express
R2 SP2 during Insight Management installation. For a
list of the supported databases, see the HP Insight
Management Support Matrix.
.NET, Windows Installer,
and SNMP
• .NET 3.5 SP1, .NET 4.0, and Windows Installer
4.5 are required to support the upgrade of
previously installed databases to Microsoft SQL
Server 2008 Express R2 SP2. Reboot after installing
.NET 3.5 SP1, before beginning the Insight
Management installation, or the upgrade to SQL
Server 2008 Express R2 SP2 will fail.
• Enabling Data Execution Prevention.
• Windows Firewall.
• Enable SNMP services and set appropriate
read-write community string.
• Latest 11.2 adobe flash player must be installed.
