HP Insight Control for Linux 6.0 User Guide

NOTE: Even though a server might have more than one NIC, you can only specify one
name for the server.
6. The Port/MAC Address column offers a list (a drop-down menu) of the MAC addresses of
the embedded NICs in the server associated with the management processor.
Choose the appropriate MAC address from the drop-down menu.
NOTES:
The Network Configuration Editor automatically displays the MAC addresses of
embedded NICs for iLO 2 management processors; the MAC addresses for embedded
NICs for iLO1 management processors are not displayed.
The MAC addresses shown are for embedded NICs only. NICs on expansion cards are
not listed.
Alternatively, you can select Add New MAC to enter a MAC address other than the ones
listed.
IMPORTANT: The MAC address you select will determine which network interface is used
for booting.
The information in the remaining columns correspond to the network interface you select.
7. Select any of the predefined network configurations from the drop-down menu.
If a predefined network configuration does not exist, you can create one using the Define
Networks button
Selecting a network from this list assigns that network to the NIC represented by the MAC
address selected in the Port/MAC Address column. This automatically assigns the next IP
address available in the IP address range of the network and assigns the other network
values (that is, the gateway, the name server, the domain, and the net mask) for that network
to the NIC. If the IP address range was not specified, this field is blank and you must specify
the IP address within the selected network here.
NOTE:
The Network Configuration Editor does not validate that the IP address Range you specify
agrees with the Base Address/Net Mask pair, nor does it validate that an IP address that
you enter manually falls within the IP address range or agrees with the Base Address/Net
Mask pair.
8. The Server IP Address column displays the assigned IP address for the NIC, corresponding
to the MAC address in the previous column.
If you need to change it, enter the appropriate IP address in this text field.
If the IP address range was not specified or if all the IP addresses have been used, this field
is blank and you must specify the IP address here.
9. Select Save to save the network parameters on a disk file.
2.4.2 Considerations for using the Network Configuration Editor for multiple servers
You can use the Network Configuration Editor to apply network parameters to multiple servers
in a single session:
