1 Release description 1.1 Description Insight Control for Linux is a Linux-hosted management product for HP ProLiant servers in enterprise environments and high performance workgroups. Insight Control for Linux is designed as a plug-in to HP Systems Insight Manager (HP SIM).
1.4 Operating systems and servers Supported operating systems and servers are listed in the HP Insight Control for Linux Support Matrix, available from the Insight Control for Linux Information Library: http://www.hp.com/go/insightcontrol/docs 1.5 Enhancements This release includes support for new servers, operating systems, and virtualization operating systems. 1.5.

2 Issues and suggested actions 2.1 Insight Control for Linux installation and upgrade notes 2.1.1 Custom or Other menu item not deleted when upgrading from Version 2.11 When upgrading to Insight Control for Linux Version 7.0, only the following two Custom or Other menu items should exist: • Deploy→Operating System→Custom or Other (Unattended)... • Deploy→Operating System→Custom or Other Interactive... However, when upgrading from Version 2.
2.4.1 Sensor collection monitor Nagios service might time out on hub when /hptc_cluster is exported When the /hptc_cluster file system is NFS exported, the Collection Sensor Monitor service on the hub might time out. Additionally, the shownode metrics command hangs. 2.7.2 Capturing and deploying Linux images This section contains notes about capturing and deploying Linux images. 2.7.2.1 Partitioning fails on SLES 11 SP1 image deployment An invalid partition captured in a SLES 11 SP1 image might cause Insight Control for Linux to fail to partition a server during a deployment. The partition will have no filesystem type, no mount point or other valid information.
3 Documentation notes This chapter contains notes that affect the Insight Control for Linux user documentation and online help. 3.1 HP Insight Control for Linux User Guide 3.1.1 Clarification on Note in Section 9.2 The following clarifies the second bullet item under the NOTES in Section 9.2.
