HP Insight Control for Linux 7.0 Release Notes

2.4.1 Sensor collection monitor Nagios service might time out on hub when
/hptc_cluster is exported
When the /hptc_cluster file system is NFS exported, the Collection Sensor Monitor service
on the hub might time out. Additionally, the shownode metrics command hangs.
Corrective action: Perform the procedure titled Procedure 2 Opening ports on SLES operating
systems in the HP Insight Control for Linux Installation Guide.
2.5 Insight Control power management notes
The HP Insight Management Installation and Upgrade Release Notes contain release notes specific
to Insight Control power management. You can access this document from the following websites:

2.6 Linux OS installation notes
This section contains notes about installing operating systems on managed systems.
2.6.1 Update to icle.properties file required for RHEL 4.x with virtual media
You must edit the icle.properties file to install RHEL 4.x with virtual media; RHEL 4.x does
not support the file option for the virtual media kickstart method.
Corrective action: Edit the /opt/mx/icle/icle.properities file to change this attribute/value
pair:
VIRTUAL_MEDIA_KICKSTART_METHOD=file
To the following:
VIRTUAL_MEDIA_KICKSTART_METHOD=cdrom
2.6.2 Packages might hinder SLES installation
HP recommends that you edit the AutoYaST file template to remove the parameters that load the
kernel-sources and kernel-syms packages.
2.7 Linux image capture and deployment notes
2.7.1 Image capture/deployment issues with VID enabled setting on Gen8 servers
The Virtual Install Disk BIOS option on Gen8 servers, if set to Enabled, might cause image capture
and deployment operations to fail. Furthermore, a server running the SLES 10 SP4 operating system
could fail with a partitioning error.
Corrective actions:
Set the VID setting to disabled as follows:
During the boot, select the F9 key to access the ROM-Based Setup Utility.1.
2. Select Advanced OptionsAdvanced System ROM Options.
3. Select Virtual Install Disk and set it to Disabled.
4. Exit the ROM Based Setup Utility.
If there is an entry for the VID in the /etc/fstab as a result of the OS installation, remove
the mount point for the VID before you capture the image. Otherwise, the image might not
deploy.
The entry for the VID would resemble the following:
/dev/disk/by-id/usb-HP_iLO_LUN_00_Media_0_000002660A01-part1 /windows/C
vfat users,gid=users,umask=0002,utf8=true 0 0
