Incorrect iLO credentials.
When incorrect iLO credentials are entered for the servers in an enclosure, the progress bar window
will run indefinitely during EDPC setting.
Solution: Close the progress bar window. Provide the correct iLO credentials for the servers in the
enclosure, and try setting EDPC.
When DCPC Shutdown rule is invoked on a managed node, the system does
not shut down.
When DCPC Shutdown rule is invoked on a managed node running on Windows Server 2003
SP2 (x64) operating system, the task is successful but, the system does not shut down, and the
following message appears:
System shutdown initiated successfully
'shutdown' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable
program or batch file.
Solution: Perform the following to resolve the problem:
1. Install the hotfix, KB942589, for Windows Server 2003 x64 SP2 from the Microsoft website
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/942589/.
2. Invoke the Shutdown rule from DCPC.
DCPC and topology pages do not load on Microsoft Internet Explorer 9.0
when there is no Internet connection.
When there is no Internet connection, the DCPC and topology pages fail to load on Internet
Explorer.
Solution: Reestablish the connection to the Internet. After the Internet connection is established and
the DCPC/topology page is opened, the page works as expected with Internet Explorer 9. After
the required files are downloaded by Adobe Flash Player, connection to the Internet is not required.
DCPC shutdown tasks fail on Microsoft Hyper-V hosts.
For Microsoft Hyper-V, the SSH communication between the CMS and managed node works
properly only when the managed node is in a work group. If the managed node is in the domain,
the communication between the managed node and the CMS fails over SSH. For the Windows
node, the SSH communication between the CMS and the managed node fails only if both are in
the domain.
Graceful Shutdown of virtual machine (hypervisor) host fails due to timeout
error.
In a large data center having more VMs, the Graceful Shutdown action ends in failure of host
shutdown due to incorrect estimation and configuration of timeout value.
Solution: If Graceful Shutdown of a hypervisor host fails due to a timeout (30 min) error, HP
recommends increasing the GlobalTimeoutForShutdown to an appropriate value and then
rerunning the rule again. You can change the GlobalTimeoutForShutdown value in the
Ruleaction.properties file.
