During the Insight Management installation process, you have the option to specify installation and
configuration settings for a remote or local deployment server, as well as to identify and copy the
supported operating systems (OSes) and virtualization software distribution files you want to deploy
to your managed servers.
Insight Control server provisioning
HP Insight Control includes the rights for HP Insight Control server provisioning, which is a feature
replacing HP Insight Control server deployment. HP Insight Control server provisioning performs
multi-server operating system provisioning to bare metal ProLiant and BladeSystem servers.
Insight Control server provisioning is licensed as part of Insight Control, eliminating the additional
licensing step that is required by Insight Control server deployment.
NOTE: Insight Control server deployment is no longer available on the DVD, but is available as
a separate download. Insight Control server deployment software licenses are no longer included
with the sale of Insight Control but can be purchased separately.

Server provisioning overview
Insight Control server provisioning software offers a complete deployment solution for HP servers
by automating the process of deploying and provisioning server software.
Server provisioning can be accomplished through imaging or scripting. Insight Control server
provisioning supports deploying Windows and Linux OSes and VMware ESXi and Microsoft
Windows Server with HyperV enabled virtualization software.
Insight Control server provisioning includes scripts developed, tested, and supported by HP to
enable rapid deployment of OS and virtualization software to servers.
Obtaining server provisioning software
Insight Control server provisioning is delivered preinstalled on a virtual machine (VM) that is
optimized to run the application. The Insight Control server provisioning VM is downloadable from
the web as a zip file that contains an Open Virtualization Format (OVF) template. HP Insight Control
server provisioning is also available on USB flash drive from the media kit. You can order the
