Backing up and restoring HP Insight Management 7.3 Central Management Server (Windows)

Technical white paper | HP Insight Management 7.3
add a new server to the service, or delete the service and re-provision the service if there is
only one server for the service.
C. If a server was removed from an infrastructure orchestration service as a post-backup activity, the
aggregated service status will be “Partial.” You can manually remove the server from the service to return
the service to the proper state. You may also need to manually delete the underlying logical server, as
instructed in step a.
D. If an infrastructure orchestration service definition was modified after the backup (Change Lease Period), the
changes must be manually re-entered after resynchronization has completed successfully.
9. If you have restored and resynchronized the primary site CMS for Matrix recovery management configurations, ensure
that the recovery site is updated to reflect the changes made to the primary Matrix recovery management site
configuration. For details on how to export and import recovery management configuration data, see the HP Matrix
recovery management Online Help.
Note:
After resynchronization is complete, HP recommends performing a planned failover/failback to verify the recovery
management configuration.
10. If any managed nodes were configured using the Managed System Setup Wizard (MSSW) after the backup, you must
reconfigure the nodes by manually running MSSW after the restore using the same set of features and options.
Configuration actions that were performed directly on the managed node do not need to be redone; however,
configuration actions performed on the CMS may need to be redone. The MSSW Analysis step determines which
configuration actions must be redone and which actions do not. Even if no configuration actions need to be performed,
you will need to complete MSSW. This ensures that MSSW saves the configuration feature and option settings for
future use.
11. If any managed nodes are no longer managed by SIM since the backup, you must select
Options
Identify Systems
in
Systems Insight Manager for those targets.
12. If you are using HP Storage Provisioning Manager, you must check to see if any volumes have the
Quarantine
property
set. If any volumes remain in quarantine, you must manually resynchronize the volumes and their services. For details,
see Appendix G: SPM resynchronization actions.
13. Most changes made after the backup must be manually re-entered. Examples include, but are not limited to, adding or
deleting a logical server, storage pool entries, or infrastructure orchestration services; adding an unmasked volume to
a storage pool entry; network configuration changes; storage configuration changes; adding or removing VC Domain or
VC Domain groups; license changes; monitored workload definition changes; and user preference changes.
14. Resynchronize all resources by performing an LSM refresh. Select

visualization
in Systems Insight
Manager. Select

Logical ServersRefresh
in the Virtualization Manager.
