Backing up and restoring HP Insight Management 7.3 Central Management Server (Windows)

Technical white paper | HP Insight Management 7.3
If you run lsmanalyzer from the command prompt, the following error is displayed:
Workaround
The mxsync command prevents the Administrator from exiting the
Logical servers and associated SAN
-based storage
phase until it can complete each step without error. To complete mxsync successfully, you must remove the
MatrixService1 account from SPM so that it can be re-added the next time lsmanalyzer runs. Follow these steps:
1. Open another command prompt window, and then enter the following command from the <SPM>\bin folder:
spmadmin.exe /rcu MatrixService1
2. Enter y at the mxsync prompt asking if you would like to repeat this phase.
3. Complete the remaining synchronization sections and phases of mxsync.
Unable to activate infrastructure orchestration server or Matrix OE logical server with volume added as post-backup activity.
In some cases, volumes added to VC-based logical servers as a post-backup activity may not be recovered properly after
running mxsync or manually importing the logical server. This might occur after an Add disk operation in infrastructure
orchestration, or when a new storage pool entry is added to a logical server as a post-backup activity. Upon recovery or
import, an embedded storage pool entry is created, and a duplicate boot volume is created incorrectly in the new storage
pool entry.
Workaround
Select Tools
HP Matrix OE visualization in Systems Insight Manager
. Select
Perspective
Logical Server
. Select the logical
server that you want to modify, and then select
Modify
Logical Server
. On the
Storage
tab of the
Modify logical server
page, click the
Modify
button for the new embedded SPE. Select the boot volume and click the
Remove
Volume
button.
After the duplicate boot disk has been removed, add any missing volumes. Click the Add
Volume
button, and then provide
details, such as the
Storage Port WWN
and
LUN
, for each missing volume. Click
Save
to save the storage pool entry changes,
and then click
Save
to update the logical server with the storage pool entry changes.
