Using the HP Rapid Deployment Pack 3.7 to Deploy Microsoft Windows Server 2003 for IA64

On bare-metal systems, you can use PXE-boot to connect to the RDP Deployment Server after the
first power up. However, HP recommends going to EFI to validate the Advanced Configuration
and Power Interface (ACPI) setting before the PXE-boot. For details, see Appendix A (page 33).
RDP components requiring customization
To deploy Windows to Integrity mid-range and high-end systems, some RDP jobs must be created
or customized. For details, see Chapter 2 (page 11) and Chapter 3 (page 15).
After customizing the jobs, you can:
Install a tested Windows Server 2003 operating system to Integrity mid-range and high-end
systems
Capture and deploy a Windows Server 2003 image to and from Integrity mid-range and
high-end systems
Execute all Integrity RDP jobs
Tasks that cannot be performed with RDP
Even with job customizations, you cannot perform the following tasks using RDP:
Create partitions using RDP jobs. For information about creating disk partitions, see the
Smart Setup Guide.
View accurate partition information in the Altiris Deployment Server Console. Each partition
is listed as a different client system.
Perform remote power control on Integrity mid-range or high-end partitions from the
Deployment Server Console.
Remotely access the management processor (MP)
