Using the HP Rapid Deployment Pack 3.7 to Deploy Microsoft Windows Server 2003 for IA64

Windows Scripted/Imaged Install jobs (group 3)
Write/Erase HW Configuration jobs (group 4)
For the scope of this document, it is assumed that the jobs from the cited groups are applied to
target systems booted to Altiris LinuxPE automation with no production operating system
installed.
Windows Scripted/Imaged Install jobs (group 3)
The Windows Scripted/Imaged Install jobs perform two functions:
Prepare the system to boot to Windows Setup.
Apply a fully functional Windows image to the target systems.
All jobs from the Windows Scripted/Imaged Install group run in LinuxPE and require that the
ACPI Mode be set to Windows before booting to the newly–installed Windows operating system
on an Integrity mid-range or high-end system. The next sections describe how to customize these
jobs using the Set ACPI to Windows task.
Customizing the Deploy Windows 2003 IA64 Sysprep Image {LinuxPE} job
1. Copy the single task from the Set ACPI Mode to Windows {LinuxPE} job, and paste it into
the Deploy Windows 2003 IA64 Sysprep Image {LinuxPE} job task list.
2. The first task in this job, Distribute Disk Image, applies the image booted to LinuxPE and
reboots to the newly-installed Windows Server 2003 operating system to run Sysprep. Ensure
that the ACPI mode is set to Windows before the Distribute Disk Image task runs. Use the
arrow button to move the copied task to the top of the task list.
