Managed Systems Configuration
After you understand (and in some cases select) your communication for your Managed Systems to
communicate with the CMS, you must then configure the Managed Systems accordingly. Use the
processes documented in the specific chapters for your Managed System type in the HP Insight
Remote Support Advanced Managed Systems Configuration Guide to configure your Managed
Systems to meet the configuration requirements outlined below.
SNMP Configuration Requirements for the CMS:
• SNMP installed on the CMS and configured to receive SNMP traps from the Managed
Systems.
• CMS configured as directed in the Insight Remote Support Advanced Central Management
Server Configuration Guide.
ELMC Configuration Requirements for the CMS:
• CMS configured as directed in the Insight Remote Support Advanced Central Management
Server Configuration Guide; ELMC is installed by default with Insight Remote Support
Advanced.
WBEM Configuration Requirements for the CMS:
• CMS configured as directed in the Insight Remote Support Advanced Central Management
Server Configuration Guide.
• WBEM credentials are configured in the Insight Remote Support Advanced Installation Wizard
and/or HP SIM as directed.
IMPORTANT: Not all ProLiant models are supported by the WBEM Providers. Refer to the
provider supported product list to determine whether your model is supported; if it is not, use
SNMP. (

Command View Configuration Requirements for the CMS:
• CMS configured as directed in the Insight Remote Support Advanced Central Management
Server Configuration Guide and EVA configuration steps followed in the Insight Remote
Support Advanced Managed Systems Configuration Guide.
NOTE: This is only necessary if supporting an EVA Managed System.
