HP Integrated Archive Platform Performance Graphs and Counters Whitepaper

Using Store Rate, we can get a historical view of archive performance and identify peak demands on
the archive system. Understanding when archive rates are at maximum and minimum can help IT
departments plan maintenance periods. Scheduling maintenance when ingestion rates are at a
minimum can help avoid a backup of email on the messaging system’s journal mailbox(es). We can
also use this data for capacity planning of IAP storage requirements. The ingestion rates can be used
to forecast when additional IAP storage will be required.
Figure 2. Platform Store and Indexing Performance Counter
The performance counters include:
Store Rate (Objects/sec) – Number of objects stored per second
Store Rate (MB/sec) – Megabytes stored per second
Index Rate – Number of objects indexed per second
Object Count – Total number of objects stored
Index Count – Total number of objects indexed
Active Transactions – Number of Active CSFR Transactions
Update Rate (Objects/sec) – Number of Objects updated per second
Individual graphs for these counters can be generated by choosing the desired counter from the Select
Graph Type drop-down menu in the Platform Store and Indexing tab.
