CPU Configuration Guidelines for vPars

Figure 25. Sequence of intctl commands to redistribute I/O interrupts.
5.2 Interrupt Save and Restore
The intctl command has a –s or save option to allow the system administrator to snapshot the current
I/O interrupt assignments and save them to a file. This allows the default interrupt assignments
created during boot by the HP-UX kernel to be overridden for better balance. The intctl –r option
modifies the current I/O interrupt assignment to the I/O interrupt assignment saved in the file by a
previously issued intctl –s command. The combination of the two options to intctl make changing the
I/O interrupt assignments less tedious and can also be used to change I/O interrupt assignment on
vPars after CPU migrations.
