HP Integrity Virtual Machines 4.3: Release Notes (5900-2265, May 2012)

This introductory chapter contains a list of the new features provided in the new release, as
well as a description of the manual organization. It also may contain information of general
interest to the release, like Section 1.4 (page 14) and documentation issues.
Chapter 2 through 10 provide release notes, relevant to the V4.3 May 2012 Patch Release,
and they also include the release notes from the following releases:

1.1 New Features and Enhancements in This Version of Integrity VM
This section describes how the current version of Integrity VM has been enhanced over previous
versions.
The features in the following list have been included in this release of Integrity VM V4.3:
The hpvmnvram command now provides the option of specifying a guest virtual disk device
backed by an ISO image, in addition to a logical volume or a whole disk. See the updated
hpvmnvram.1m manpage included with the May 2012 Patch release.
Continued support for the latest Intel® Itanium® Processor 9300 series on the following VM
Host and guests:
HP-UX 11i v3 VM Host HP-UX 11i v3 1103 and 1109
HP-UX 11i v3 guests HP-UX 11i v3 1003 through 1109 (all Integrity servers)
HP-UX 11i v2 guests HP-UX 11i v2 0712 (all Integrity servers)
N-Port ID Virtualization (NPIV) support. See “NPIV Support” (page 33) and “Migrating VMs
with NPIV Devices (page 41).
Enables support for Matrix OE 7.0 fluid cross-technology logical servers. For additional details,
see the HP Matrix Operating Environment 7.0 Logical Server Management User Guide.
Long vswitch names- vswitch names can now be up to 64 characters.
