HP Integrity Virtual Machines 4.3: Release Notes (5900-2265, May 2012)

Whenever you upgrade Integrity VM, reinstall the guest kit on all the guests. This ensures that
guests run well and continue to be manageable and supportable. Failure to install and upgrade
the guest management software on each guest can cause problems that are difficult to diagnose
and solve.
1.5 Documentation Issues
The HP Integrity Virtual Machines 4.3: Installation, Configuration, Administration manual states
the dynamic memory is not enabled by default, however, beginning with the V4.2.5 release,
dynamic memory is enabled by default.
In the HP Integrity Virtual Machines 4.3: Installation, Configuration, Administration manual,
Table 3.2.11, the maximum VMs per VM Host is incorrectly listed as 256. The correct number
of VMs allowed per VM Host is 254.
In the HP Integrity Virtual Machines 4.3: Installation, Configuration, Administration manual,
Section 2.3.5, Page 43, Step 5: the command line is incorrect. Here is the correct command:
# update-ux -s /dev/dvd HPUX11i-VSE-OE T2767CC
A statement in the HP Integrity Virtual Machines 4.3: Installation, Configuration, Administration
manual concerning licensing Integrity VM as part of the VSE-OE is misleading.
The corrected statement is as follows:
Integrity VM Version 4.3 is included in the HP-UX VSE-OE, as well as the in the HP-UX DC-OE.
You can install Integrity VM from either OE and run it on the VM Host system. If you have
purchased the HP-UX VSE-OE or the DC-OE, you are also entitled to run that OE on the VM
Host and Integrity VM guests.
1.6 Integrity Virtual Server Manager and GUID Manager
January 2012 Patch Release
Integrity VM V4.3 now supports the new version of HP Integrity Virtual Server Manager 6.0
(previously Integrity Virtual Machines Manager) and HP-UX GUID Manager V1.0.
HP Integrity Virtual Server Manager is the GUI that you can use from your browser to manage
Integrity VM resources. Virtual Server Manager allows you to create, configure, and manage virtual
machines, and to monitor and evaluate data and resources at the level of the VM Host. For
information about Integrity Virtual Server Manager 6.0, see the HP Integrity Virtual Server Manager
6.0 User Guide at the following website: http://www.hp.com/go/matrixoe/docs
The HP-UX GUID (globally unique identifier) Manager (GUIDMgr) is a client-server based product
that allocates and manages unique World-Wide Names (WWNs) for N-Port ID Virtualization
(NPIV) Host Bus Adapters (HBAs), so you do not have to perform these tasks manually. For
information about the GUID Manager V1.0, see the HP-UX GUID Manager Administrator Guide
at the following website: http://www.hp.com/go/hpux-vpars-docs.
