Disk Management is used to write a disk signature, create a Basic type of
disk, partition and format the volume. Dynamic disks were not tested and
are not supported with the Microsoft iSCSI Initiator.
For LeftHand iSCSI volumes which are grown in size, the Microsoft
DISKPART utility may be used to increase the volume size and therefore
make this new space available to the partition in the operating system.
(See Microsoft KB #300415 and/or the LeftHand SAN User’s Guide
pages 353-355).
Configuration of CHAP (1 or 2-way) is configured for the target in the
LeftHand CMC during definition of the Initiator’s Authentication Group.
Configuration of the initiator may be performed in SANsurfer or the
Microsoft iSCSI applet. Our testing found no difference in configuration of
these settings and recommends the Microsoft iSCSI applet for configuring
CHAP. Under the “Targets” tab, select the target, “Log On,” and
Advanced.” Select “CHAP Logon Information,” enter the Username and
Target Secret to match configuration in the CMC and select “Mutual
CHAP” for 2-way.
Windows SANsurfer requires that the password not be blank. Consult the
SANsurfer readme for additional requirements. SANsurfer requires DNS
name resolution either manual or as defined in the operating system.
To change the host IP name resolution table, edit the
%systemroot%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file

SANsurfer requires that the username specified be an account in both the
adm and root groups on the system in which the agent is running. Before
changing the password, consult the SANsurfer readme for important
