Creating the first iSCSI volume on the SAN
Before a QLogic iSCSI Host Bus Adapter can access a new iSCSI volume it
must be created on the SAN and authentication configured to allow access to
the volume. To do this: Open the CMC (Centralized Management Console) and
create a new volume. Create a “Volume List” to contain QLogic iSCSI volumes
and allow read/write access. Then create an “Authentication Group” using the
iqn name(s) copied from the QLogic iSCSI initiator(s), or CHAP as required,
and add it to the same volume list. Additional volumes can be created and
simply added to the existing volume list. [Best Practice: Select the “Enable
load balancing” check box for improved performance when using the QLogic
iSCSI Host Bus Adapter initiator]
