Clustering Stand-Alone J2EE Components
Some SAP applications are stand-alone J2EE components and do not
come in an ABAP context. For example, SAP Enterprise Portal
installations.
Beginning with SAP Web Application Server 6.40, these components can
be treated a fashion similar to ABAP installations. Comparing Figure 1-4
with Figure 1-3 shows the similarity on a conceptual level.
A one-package setup for pure JAVA environments implements a
(dbjciSID) package.
The (jci) package type is always dedicated to a JAVA System Central
Service (SCS) Instance. The implementation of JAVA System Central
Services is not written in JAVA. It uses stand-alone Enqueue and
Message Server implementations similar to the ones delivered with
ABAP kernels.
