Serviceguard Extension for SAP on Integrity Linux Version A.01.01 Release Notes
Compatibility Information and Installation Requirements
Chapter 18
OS Platform and Version Compatibility
Initially, the only supported Linux distribution is SuSE SLES9 SP2 64-bit on Itanium. Any
deployed Linux kernel must be certified with the SAP LinuxLab and HP SGeSAP/LX IPF.
The SAP LinuxLab publishes kernels that you can also deploy. Instructions from where to
download the latest certified kernels can be found on
http://www.sap.com/linux/platforms.htm. Additional information on how to contact the
SAP LinuxLab can be found on http://www.sap.com/linux.
All supported HP SGeSAP/LX IPF setups were tested with drivers that are supported by HP
Serviceguard for Linux for Integrity and at the same time are part of an SAP certified Linux
distribution. For these setups, it is not required to install any driver in addition to those that
come with the Linux distribution. LVM, network bonding and multipathing are supported via
the software that comes with the Linux distribution.
Activities that would endanger SAP support are:
Recompiling/remaking the Linux kernel after installation.
Adding drivers that are not part of the installed Linux distribution.
Adding kernel modules that are not delivered with an open source license.
SAP and Database Software Version Compatibility
HP SGeSAP/LX IPF A.01.01 can be used in combination with SAP ABAP components based
on:
SAP Kernel 4.6C/D
SAP WAS 6.20
SAP WAS 6.40 ABAP
SAP WAS 6.40 Addin or Java based Netweaver components are not yet certified. It is strongly
recommended to use the latest kernel patch that is available from SAP.
Initally, Oracle is the only supported database technology. All versions of Oracle are generally
supported with the respective SAP component and can be integrated in the cluster setup.
The following table lists which SAP kernel releases should be used with the supported
versions of HP SGeSAP/LX IPF.
