Error: Invalid storage manager username and/or domain name.
Error message
The sign-in credentials for the server stored in the Insight Dynamics user interface do not include
the user name specified as part of the Storage Management Server configuration operation in HP
Insight Recovery.
Cause
For the server specified, ensure that the sign-in credentials stored in the Insight Dynamics user
interface include the credentials for the user name specified.
Action
Error: Failed to add/modify EVA Storage Management Server. Credential
for Storage Management Server does not exist. Check input and retry.
Error message
The hostname, port number, and user name specified cannot be validated.
Cause
Ensure that the server identified by the hostname is an EVA Command view server. Ensure that
CIMOM on the Command View server is configured to use the port number specified and that
the user name specified is a valid user on that server.
Action
Unable to add/edit Storage Management Server
Error message
The server is not properly configured to be managed by the Insight Dynamics user interface.Cause
Ensure that Open SSH is installed and configured on the server, and ensure that the managed
nodes and CMS are trusted. This can be achieved by running Configure -> Configure or Repair
Agents in the Insight Dynamics user interface.
Action
Unable to add/edit EVA Storage Replication Group
Error message
Unable to obtain information about the Storage Replication Group from the Command View EVA
Storage Management Server.
Cause
Confirm that the Storage Replication Group exists on the arrays that were listed when the EVA
Storage Replication Group configuration was added or edited in HP Insight Recovery. Ensure
that the EVA arrays are managed by Command View EVA Storage Management Servers.
1. Confirm that the SIM-S component of the Command View EVA has been installed on the
Command View server. For information on installing SMI-S, refer to the HP StorageWorks
Command View EVA Installation Guide available at: http://h20000.www2.hp.com - click on
Manuals, then go to Storage –> Storage Software –> Storage Device Management Software –>
HP StorageWorks Command View EVA Software.
2. Confirm that the port number specified during Storage Management Server configuration in
Insight Recovery is the same as WBEM port number configured on the Command View server
(for example, 5989). For more information, refer to the CIMOM server configuration section
of the HP StorageWorks Command View EVA Installation Guide.
3. Refresh the Command View server CIM database by running the refresh command. For details
on the Discoverer command, refer to the Configuring HP SMI-S EVA to Discover HP Command
View EVA Arrays section in the HP StorageWorks Command View EVA Installation Guide.
4. Ensure that the Command View EVA service and CIMOM service are running. Start or restart
these services if necessary.
Action
Unable to add/edit XP Storage Replication Group
Error message
Unable to obtain information about the Storage Replication Group from the RAID manager, or
the information obtained does not match the information provided when the XP Storage Replication
Group configuration was added or edited in HP Insight Recovery.
Cause
Ensure that the RAID manager instance on the local Storage Management Server is up and running.
From the install directory of the RAID Manager, run pairdisplay g <group name> (where
<group name> is the name of the Storage Replication Group being added or edited) - to see if
the Storage Replication Group is configured and the local array serial number, remote array serial
number, and storage replication type matches the data provided when the XP Storage Replication
Group configuration was added or edited in HP Insight Recovery.

Configuration troubleshooting 27
